It's interesting that I have similar experience with groups shooting the King Cobra,and Pythons with 6 inch barrel as well as 4 in barrels in Colt model 357,Trooper,S&W model 66,and Ruger Security six. I have shot 3/4 inch groups up to 2 1/2inch groups with all of the above including the Pythons. Posts: 2,800. The Python is a Bugatti. The King Cobra is a tank. It's an accurate, and very durable gun. About the only weakness in the King Cobra is that if the firing pin ever breaks, the gun will need a trip back to Hartford to replace it. A special jig is needed to prevent frame warpage, and Colt has the jig.The Colt King Cobra Target is very similar to the previously-released King Cobra, but with some noticeable differences. The frame is the same modified D-frame, it is still stainless steel, and chambered in .357 Magnum. I just picked up a Colt King Cobra 22 to keep my S&W 617 and Ruger GP-100 .22 company. Having nice speedloaders for the Smith and Ruger are a big part of what make those guns enjoyable to shoot and so I was mildly concerned about what seemed like an absense of available speedloaders for the Colt. But, happy day!Colt will never make a 100% clone of the old Python.
